Comissioned To Go

Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
— Matthew 18:19-20

Devotional:

Genesis 12:2-3

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Jesus commands ALL of us to make disciples. This means that our faith is not only about our personal relationship with Jesus, but it also involves sharing our faith with people around us. This is how is how we fulfill the promise God made to Abraham in Genesis 12; that He will be a blessing to all nations. We are heirs of that promise (Galatians 3:29).

For someone to become a disciple, they first need to hear and respond to the gospel. When was the last time you shared the gospel with someone?

Prayer:

  • Thank Jesus for transforming your life.

  • Ask Jesus for an opportunity to share your testimony with someone who hasn’t heard your story yet.

Reflection and Response:

What made you want to surrender your life to Jesus? If you only had 2 minutes to share your testimony with someone, what would be most important for you to share? Write it down.
