Called to be a Dwelling Place

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God, he created him; male and female, he created them.
— Genesis 1:27 (ESV)

For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
— 2 Corinthians 6:16 (ESV)

Devotional:

The history of humanity, the history of man, always begins with a relational God in search of a relationship with someone equal in the image of Him with the same correspondence capacities. Genesis 1: 27 says: And God created man in his image... In chapter 2 of the same book of Genesis, verse 7 tells us that God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being. The Father desired to make habitation with his creation. Then much later, the apostle Paul tells us in the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 16 ... You are the temple of the living God! God has already said: "I will dwell and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people" that is the perfect and whole state of man to be a dwelling place where the Spirit of God can rest and live and manifest grace and favor to others who do not have it from the One who dwells in you. Today is the first day of separation and seeking intimacy with Your Lord. Remember that you are called to be God's dwelling place in you. I ask you: Is there room for Jesus in you? Are you in a place where He feels comfortable?

Let’s Pray

Lord on this day, I begin to see my life from the perspective of new beginnings since this year starts today. I have great expectations; I want to ask you that the greatest of these expectations may be that I can become your dwelling place and allow you to dwell fully in me so that your Spirit freely shows me the path I should walk through. I pray that I can walk through it holding your hand. Through Christ Jesus, my Savior and Lord, I ask this, Amen.
