21 Days of Prayer Guide
21 Days of Prayer Guide
Habitation Church will engage in 21 days of prayer and fasting to seek direction from the Lord concerning 2023. At Habitation Church, we understand that the Lord's presence is the most important element of our spiritual life. We believe that we can allow God to dwell inside us, our church, and our city through prayer, scripture, fasting, and worship!
Week 1 – Inward Focus | |||
---|---|---|---|
Day | Theme | Reason | Scripture |
Day 1 – 1/2 | Repentance | For God to move into our church, city, and families, He requires his people to humble themselves and seek his presence. God is never far from the humble-hearted. Take this day to repent, ask God to forgive your sins and your hidden addiction, and allow him to search you; let him refine you! | John 3:30, 2 Chr. 7:14, Psalms 51:17, 139:23-24, Acts 3:19 |
Day 2 – 1/3 | Forgiveness | Forgiveness is critical today; pray to embrace God’s forgiveness and let go of unresolved baggage in the hands of the Lord. As you embrace forgiveness, ask the Lord whom you need to forgive and allow God to walk with you through a path of forgiveness! Rebuke the spirit of unforgiveness, envy, and jealousy from yourself and your soul! God has set you free! | 1 John 1:9, Matthew 18:21-22, Colossians 3:13 |
Day 3 – 1/4 | Reconciliation | The Lord has called us to walk a journey for reconciliation. Operating or navigating through life with bitterness, division, strife, and dissension is not healthy. Reconciliation is the next step in forgiveness. Let God show you whom you need to reconcile with within your family, church, and community! Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to all truth and reconciliation! | 2 Cor. 5:18, John 16:13, Hebrew 12:14 |
Day 4 – 1/5 | Surrendering | To live a life of surrendering can be hard, but it is so rewarding. The understanding that no one else matters but God and His will relives you from so many pressures of Life. As you mediate today ask the Holy Spirit to teach you to live a life of surrendering before the presence of the Lord. Rebuke pride and complacency and embrace the meek life of Jesus! | Mark 8:34-35, James 4:10, Deut. 6:5, Galatians 2:20 |
Day 5 – 1/6 | Consecration |
Consecration talks about being separated from God. This is the year for you to be consecrated to the Lord, abandon your human desires and passions, and live a holy life before the Lord. Rebuke the spirit of lust, addictions, and pride. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to surrender your desires for his! | 1 Peter 1:15-16, 2 Cor.7:1, 1 Cor. 6:18-19 |
Day 6 – 1/7 | |||
Day 7 – 1/8 | Commitment | As we enter the last day of this week, pray that you are committed to fulfilling the will of God, committed to what you prayed this week and allow God to teach you how to be more committed in this season, prioritizing God over anything else! | 1 Kings 8:61, 2 Timothy 2:15, Matthew 4:19, Philippians 3:13 |
Week 2 - Upward Focus | |||
---|---|---|---|
Day | Theme | Reason | Scripture |
Day 8 – 1/9 | Holy Spirit Fill | As we transitioned into this week of prayer and fasting, it is imperative that we allow the Holy Spirit to fill us up! For us to be filled we need to empty ourselves of us and allow God to become greater inside of us! Today, talk to the Holy Spirit and invite him to fill you, free you, heal you and restore you! | John 3:30, Acts 2:4, Ephesians 5:18 |
Day 9 – 1/10 | |||
Day 10 – 1/11 | Denying the Flesh | For us to live a constant life in the presence of the Lord, we must deny the desires of the flesh. The Bible says that the desires of the flesh are against the desires of the sprit. Today as we asked the Holy Spirit to fill us, ask him to day to help you pick up your cross and allow God’s mercy and grace to set you in a new track in life! | Luke 9:23, Galatians 5:17, Romans 8:13 |
Day 11 – 1/12 | Obeying God | Sometimes we think that sacrificing to God for the sake of sacrificing is what the Lord is looking for. He is not looking for that. What God is after are sons and daughters who are obedient to his call and to his will! To live a life of obedience we must ask the holy Spirit to crucify our flesh, remove our pride, remove our own humanistic mindset on how things should God and receive the mindset of God through the scriptures and prayer. Today, chose to be obedient and submit to God! | 1 Sam 15:22, 1 Peter 5:6, James 4:7 |
Day 12 – 1/13 | The Fruit of the Spirit | The fruit of the spirit is ONE with 9 different characteristics of the same fruit. Jesus is the fruit! Jesus embodied all of these traits in his life and He is asking us to follow along and also practice them in our lives today. Today go to the scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit to help you develop these 9 traits so that you can become more life Jesus. | Galatians 5:22-23 |
Day 13 – 1/14 | The Power of God | God’s power is made strong during our weakness. Take time these next few days and pray to the Lord and ask Him to fill you again with His Holy Spirit and ask Him to guide you to all truth in the scriptures. Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your love for the scriptures, within each line of the Bible there is power embedded, we must read it, understand it, and apply and God’s power will be manifested through you! Ask the Holy Spirit for revelation and through the scriptures and prayer ask Him to increase His power inside of you! | Hebrews 4:12, Matthew 19:26, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 13:4 |
Day 14 – 1/15 |
Week 3: Outward Focus | |||
---|---|---|---|
Day | Theme | Reason | Scripture |
Day 15 – 1/16 | Worship! | Worship is more than an act that is performed on a Sunday for 45 minutes. Worship is a lifestyle of recognizing, honoring, blessing, and surrendering to the Lord. Worship expresses our thankfulness towards God, even when things don’t go our way. Chose today to live a lifestyle of Worship before that Lord. | Romans 2:1, John 4 |
Day 16 – 1/17 | Horizontal Relationship | As we pray this week on our outward focus, take time to pray for your bother and your sisters in the faith but also for the people who you encounter daily in the streets, your job, etc. Our horizontal relationship (interactions with people) is very important for our mission on the earth. We can no longer be impersonal with people. The world needs a savior, and many will come through a relationship with you. Pray for the people you encounter with and ask God for opportunities to serve and love them. | Galatians 6:10, 1 Thessalonians 5:25 |
Day 17 – 1/18 | Harvest is Ready | We are living in an unprecedented time! Many things are changing in the world, the only constant thing is that will never change is the gospel and the fact that we have a mission to partner with God to share the gospel of salvation so that many can be saved. Today pray for yourself for a spirit of boldness to arise and a spirit of wisdom to come to give you what you need for you to preach the gospel everywhere you can! The people need to hear the word, share it! | Matthew 9:35-38, 2 Timothy 4:5, 2 Tim 1:7 |
Day 18 – 1/19 | |||
Day 19 – 1/20 | Intentionality Incarnational Invitational |
Intentionality is an obvious thing. It means that you had intent to do something, that you planned to do something. Pray today so that the Lord may give you intentionality to embody the Gospel of Christ and proclaim it to others. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you to live without fear or rejection and to help you see yourself as a spokesperson of the good news! Share the Gospel, share a testimony, invite them to church, invite them to eat, just be intentional on pointing them back to the Cross! | 2 Corinthians 5:17, Philippians 3:13, John 1:14, Matthew 28:18-19, 1 Corinthians 1:21 |
