Day 7: Rest in God’s Plan
Hello, church family! As we conclude our first week, we’ll reflect on the importance of rest. In this season of new beginnings, God is inviting us to lead and live from a place of rest in Him.
Scripture Reading:
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." — Matthew 11:28-30
Reflection:
Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28-30 is one of the most comforting promises in Scripture. Rest doesn’t mean inactivity—it means trusting God to carry the weight.
In our busy lives, it’s easy to mistake busyness for productivity. But God’s plan for us involves intentional rest, where we find renewal in His presence. As we move forward this year, let’s prioritize rest as an act of faith, knowing that God is in control.
Application:
Today, take a moment to evaluate your schedule. Are you prioritizing rest, or are you carrying burdens God hasn’t asked you to bear?
Make a commitment to set aside time each week to rest in God’s presence. Use that time for prayer, worship, or simply being still before Him.
Prayer:
"Lord, thank You for the gift of rest. Help us to lay down our burdens and trust You to carry them. Teach us to lead and live from a place of peace and renewal in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
